The beautiful Oregon Coast

I thought I would do some quick blog entries with photos so you could all see this beautiful state.

It has been a long day; it started at 4:15. The flights all went smoothly and the second half of the flight to Portland was beautiful. There were clear skies over the Rockies and I shot some pictures from the plane of the terrain, wind farms and the mountains around Portland. The one mountain was so close--it is not Mt. Hood, but another.

I rented a car and drove to Depoe Bay. It is the smallest harbor in the world, so they claim. They also have lots of whale watching. It is chilly and windy here--the temps are in the upper 50's! It is very refreshing. I am including photos of the area and my hotel which sits right on the ocean; I have a semi-water view and it is very lovely.

I ate dinner at a seafood restaurant with a beautiful view of the water. As I was eating, several whales came in near the rocks and stayed for a while. It was really neat to be able to see them.

More updates later!
